Babes of Bass Interview #5: Osyris
Lightning in a Bottle is known for booking more femme DJs than most other festivals in the game. Let’s get to know the babes within the bass! While attending Lightning in a Bottle, Bass n Babes founder, Baby Kush, got to interview several of the female bass talent. The first interview is with Osyris, who is known for her deep bass music and her dark and mystical vibes.
Baby Kush: What was the moment you when realized that you wanted to be a DJ?
Osyris: When I saw Alison Wonderland. I was like ‘Oh my god! Is that a girly? I could do that if she can do that.’ 😱
Baby Kush: How would you describe your sound?
Osyris: A mixture of dark, spooky sort of wubs.🖤🕸🦇
Baby Kush: Do you feel like your style has changed?
Osyris: The first couple of years I was super into house music. I started listening to the weirder bass music and I was like ‘Wait, this is actually way more my vibe.’ 😯
Baby Kush: Do you have any advice for aspiring women DJs and producers?
Osyris: Don’t put so much pressure on where you wanna go, just enjoy where you’re at and you’ll get there. Whatever you put your mind to, just give it 110% and don’t give up on yourself. You can do anything you want girl, slay! 💅🏻🤭
Baby Kush: Do you have a most memorable fan interaction?
Osyris: After the show a group of girlies came up to me, we had such a genuine interaction and connection. I think that was the first time I was like ‘Whoa, this is kind of crazy! Lil old me?!” 🤯
Baby Kush: Who is your dream B2B partner?
Osyris: Rezz would be cool, even though she does her own thing, I think we could do something cool. Sooooo girl, hmu! 👀
