Every summer, tens of thousands of festival-goers from across Canada, the U.S., and beyond journey to the Salmo River in British Columbia for one of the most legendary electronic gatherings on the map: Shambhala Music Festival. Known for its enchanted natural setting, ethereal art installations, larger-than-life stage designs, and intimate, heart-centered aura, Shambhala is often described by its attendees as more of a family reunion than a festival.

As Shambhala returns for its 26th year on July 25–28, we at Electric Hawk, in collaboration with femme-powered collective Bass n Babes, are zooming our hawk eye in on the female and gender-expansive artists lighting up Shambhala’s six iconic stages.

Discover the must-see femme artists, from scene legends to emerging talents: here’s your guide for Shambhala 2025.

Shambhala Babes

Shambhala boasts six main stages: AMP, Fractal Forest, The Grove, Living Room, Pagoda, and The Village. We dove into each stage lineup to highlight femme-identifying and gender-expansive artists you’ll want to catch. While the numbers still leave room for improvement, there’s no shortage of brilliance among the women who are gracing these magical stages this year.

Amplifying Icons | AMP Stage

Shambhala’s AMP stage showcases a range of sonic offerings, and it holds its own as the first stage attendees encounter upon passing through the entrance gates. Out of 41 artists and musical acts on this year’s AMP lineup, 11% are femme-identifying—a number we hope to see grow in future years.

That said, the women holding it down at AMP this year are bringing serious multi-genre magic. Overall, expect filthy UKG blends from Oppidan and Casey Club, heavy-hitting gangster bass from Ratchaelbeats, and immersive trap and experimental bass from Whipped Cream and Athena.

Femme Fractals | Fractal Forest

Shambhala’s renowned Fractal Forest is set up inside a literal enchanted art forest. It’s where attendees find themselves surrounded by glowing tree trunks and soundtracked by a mix of artists bringing their best and funkiest IDs.

Out of 41 acts playing the Fractal Forest this year, femme representation comes in at 5.7% with Joanna Magik, Wilma (as part of Mood Swing & Chevy Bass), Jgirl (Jgirl & Manousos), and Sofi Tukker (½ of the duo), bringing sparkly housey beats and disco to these blessed decks.

The Goddesses of The Grove | The Grove Stage

Then set within a breathtaking backdrop of majestic towering cedar trees and captivating art installations, we arrive at The Grove. This sonic sanctuary hosts about 20% femme artists, which is around the industry average in 2024 and 2025 (according to Bass n Babes’ North American festival lineup analyses since 2024).

The femme forces you’ll find gracing The Grove’s Funktion Ones this year are Lex Amor, Mia Koden, The Librarian, Alex Moon, ½ of Defied, Mother Mary, Mraki, Lil Bones, and Skerd. While you can probably tell, Shambhala’s lineup magic lies greatly in its incredible diversity of sounds, with sets spanning through a wide range of genres at each stage.

Living Room Ladies | Living Room Stage

The Living Room is Shambhala’s beach stage, set beside the sacred Salmo River, which offers a largely funk/soul-fueled oasis whenever you may need a place of riverside refuge.

It’s in this disco haven that you’ll find some legendary ladies on the decks this year: Snow Raven, Bianca Oblivion, DJ Heather, DJ Minx, DJ Shakey, Fleetmac Wood (½ femme), Jubilee, Gabby Haze, Illexxandra, Chixy Guap, Donna Dada, Shawna (KMLN), Lion S, Meowmix, Spanda, and Foxy Moron.

Of the 49 artists performing here, around 30% of its lineup is femme-identifying, making it the stage with the greatest gender diversity. Furthermore, if you find yourself cozying up by the river come July, The Living Room may offer your best chance of stumbling upon your new favorite femme artist.

Love on the Pagoda | Pagoda Stage

The ever-epic Pagoda stage is Shambhala’s temple of sound. A seven-story beacon designed to exemplify loving feelings of connectedness, Shambhala’s family is known for chasing down this place. Known for its stunning visuals and genre-fluid curation, this is where that fabled Shambhala dancefloor transcendence happens.

Femme artists making waves on this year’s Pagoda lineup include Rezz, Sivz, Awood, Kurei, T3mpr, and ½ of Average Citizens, totaling about 16% of this stage’s lineup.

From Rezz’s iconic midtempo bass, to Kurei’s hypnotic house and garage, these ladies are guaranteed to bring the Pagoda to multidimensional heights this year.

Village Voices | The Village Stage

Finally, the immersive and notoriously bass-fueled Village stage at Shambhala hosts a sonically diverse lineup of global talent every year. This year, you’ll find dubstep icon Alleycvt and innovative DnB project Koven holding it down, along with ⅕ of DLB.

Additionally, in terms of emerging talent, be sure to check out the #WombTang Ladies DnB Takeover. If you’re traipsing the decorated pathways or Village treehouse platforms come July, the ladies of The Village are not ones to miss.

Electric Babes

While femme representation across Shambhala’s 2025 stages remains uneven, as is typical across most large festival lineups, the talent present is not only worth checking out, but essential to the magic of the place. Naturally we’re excited to visit Shambhala forests, amplify artists, share stories, and highlight women actively shaping electronic music’s future.

Whether you’re dancing riverside or exploring the many non-musical offerings within Shambhala’s playground this July, make space on your schedule for these artists–we promise you won’t regret it.

Nonetheless if you can’t make it to Shambhala this year, fret not. Electric Hawk and Bass n Babes will be your eyes and ears on the ground, bringing you exclusive interviews and live coverage from the fabled mossy dancefloors of British Columbia.
