Shambhala Babes of Bass Interview Recap

Electric Hawk and Bass n Babes were at Shambhala asking some of the women on the lineup this important question:

Who are women who have inspired you on your artistic journey? Check out their answers:

Chixy Guap: It’s definitely been a number of them through the years.

Skerd: The Librarian’s a huge inspo.

Chixy Guap: Obviously The Librarian is around here somewhere, from a baddie bitch running shit type of standpoint.

The Librarian: My mom, because she’s always been so supportive of, you know, me starting Bass Coast and following my dreams of a music career.

RatchaelBeats: Tokimonsta is a really big influence just because [she was] the first time I had ever seen an Asian woman on the stage and I never really thought like oh, I can do this? This is amazing!

Athena: So many. Definitely The Librarian, definitely Khiva, Zen Selekta.

Chixy Guap: Bianca Oblivion.

The Librarian: Like other artists that I’ve been inspired by, Björk, sort of the foundational records that I listened to when I was young.

Skerd: My friends, you know, Marah, obviously. There’s just so many good women in the scene right now, it’s fucking awesome to see.

Athena: All of my peers, all of Kyra, Bass n Babes, having that support network. Also a lot of women in my life who are not directly in the bass scene or circle, my friends, and my family.
