Babes of Bass Interview #27: Bass Temple

The first interview of Lightning in a Bottle 2026 is with Bass Temple. Bass Temple is a Denver-based DJ and Producer who creates a unique journey from deep primordial bass into cosmic melodic loops that raise her audience’s energy into a high vibrational experience. Her sets seamlessly flow through a blend of powerful bass styles weaving them into a musical kaleidoscope. Dive in with Bass Temple and Soosi during her interview at Lightning in a Bottle:

Soosi: What’s your artist name and how did you come up with it?

Bass Temple: It’s Bass Temple. I found out I was going to be on a compilation that CloZee was curating and I didn't have a trademarked artist name, so we decided it was time for a rebrand. We spent a whole weekend just kind of going through ideas and on the morning of Day 3 we just woke up and said “Bass Temple”. 

Soosi: How would you describe your flavor of bass?

Bass Temple: Very melodic. Melodic dubstep,melodic bass, organic elements, and cinematic elements as well. I like to feel like each song that I make tells some sort of story.

Soosi: When did you realize you wanted to be a DJ and producer?

Bass Temple: I had been DJing for a long time and just had this urge like, “Man, it would be really cool to play a song or two that I made.” That was just something that started becoming more and more of a goal of mine and as soon as I started diving into Ableton, I just was instantly hooked and obsessed. It completely took over.

Soosi: Who are some women who have inspired you on your artistic journey?

Bass Temple: For sure CloZee. Rezz too. Wolfy Lights.

Soosi: What is your advice for aspiring femme and women producers?

Bass Temple: Don't quit. There's going to be so many times when you just feel like giving up. Just keep going, no one's going to do any of the work for you so just really making ways to be accountable to yourself.

Soosi: What is the most memorable rave trinket that someone has given you?

Bass Temple: Tinkering Atomz in Denver made me this cool little temple trinket. It’s super fun and cool to spin around.
